Today, I learned about online learning for K-12th grade students and the many advantages these programs offer. Some advantages were asking questions without feeling uncomfortable, getting the chance to talk to teachers more often, the flexible schedule, and getting to work without the everyday pressures of high school. I never knew students in elementary, middle, or high school were able to finish school through online programs. I think this is a great way for students who would rather work independently or at their own pace to succeed through school. I personally can relate to what some of the people were saying in their videos especially the Erdals' story. Their two daughters talked about how the drama of everyday high school would interfere with their school work which I could totally see. There are too many distractions when going through school. To have had the extra time to do focus on school work and possibly another hobby like art or music would have been nice when I was in high school. Now that I know more about this I may have to suggest online learning to some people who are raising children right now.
